For Emily Lisker:

May 24, 2012

I’d rather keep them with me. Coat my veins in compliments like so much putty, lubricating the way for happy blood, arms pumping, smiles down the street, a calm cool palm on your hot arm. I am ready to show you the bottoms of my feet, the underside of my chin, take your hand, touch your back. I have been fed kindness and I keep it with me. This is why I’m here with you. Look at your face! I love it. I love.
